Type - memory
Driving home from a gig the previous night, and listening to 'Whispering Bob' on the radio, he was interviewing Eileen Rose and playing her tracks. I'd never heard of her before, and she sounded good, so when at the end, he announced she was on at the Musician the following night (25 miles down the road), I thought I'd better go.
Well worth the trip.
I've recently seen a couple of US female led 'country' bands (Tift Merritt, Eilen Jewell) and love the genre. Eileen didn't disappoint with some hard rocking and more mellow numbers.
Special mention of guitarist/pedal steel player Rich Gilbert who provided one of the most entertaining 'encore' numbers I've ever seen.
Singer/Guitarist/Somgwriter TD Lind ably supported the night, as well as joining Eileen for one of her numbers. He also implied that one of his songs was being used in a Bernard Matthews ad. What's all that about then?
